Cliqué feelings
I hear the loud noise of my alarm clock early this morning. T’was a a wake up call for me. Today was a very big day for me. It’s today that i’m stepping in into another environment, breathing another kind of air, meeting new people, learning different curriculums and walking unfamiliar paths. Today was the first day of my College life.
As a student of the University of the Philippines, i now think differently. You may say why? Well, it’s because people are expecting a lot from us especially that we are called as”Iskolar Para Sa Bayan”. It’s very hard to stand by it though, but it’s a challenge i’m going to take.
Earlier this morning, I was about to ride a jeepney going to UP when i met Ramie-old classmate in high school. There and then, i felt somehow relieve. Honestly, i don’t know why i felt that way. Maybe because i was nervous for the first day of classes knowing that i don’t know anyone yet, or maybe because i was just too excited about the first day. Whatever the reason is, the bottom-line is that i was relieved!
When we arrived at UP, we were amazed to know that we are an early birds. hahaha. We were the first ones who arrived, well except for the janitor and the security guards. We just waited for the place to filled with lots of freshies-1st year students. When the place was soon filled up, every one was gathered to go to the Conference Hall where the orientation for the incoming first years will proceed. Along the way, i met some B.S. Biology students. I was glad to meet em’ coz I too am taking B.S. Biology, and frankly, i don’t know anyone yet. So i was really happy when i met some of them.
After the orientation, the dean announced that there will be no classes tomorrow-June5, 2012, due to teachers conference. I was shocked that the entire first year students was filled with joy. Everyone was shouting “Yes!” and “Wohooo, No Classes! Oh Yeah”. hahaha and i was one of em’.
Overall, Today was quite an experience i’ll never forget. I kept on stating my name, the school where i graduated and the reason why i took up my said program. I also got the chance to meet some new faces and got to know them a little better.
Today was a feeling that was familiar to me. Today was the day I become a freshman again, but this time… It’s college we’re talking about ^^
